- What happens to the photo sent after the purchase?
- All images uploaded during purchase will be deleted within 6 months after the personal colour analysis is completed, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Where should I take the photo for the colour analysis?
- To get the most out of the personal colour analysis, take a photo outdoors in natural light or near natural light sources facing the light source. Avoid taking pictures in direct sunlight as it can lead to overexposed images. Keep in mind that auto filters may be installed on your device, and they need to be turned off before taking the photo.
- Can I send any portrait photo of the person I wish to surprise with the gift edition?
- Professional headshots are usually done with filters that can slightly alter the outcome. Nevertheless, our system can likely equilibrate them to optimize the result. While a natural image taken in bright daylight is always the best, you might decide on a professional one if that is the most flattering for the person.
- Do you use seasonal colour analysis?
- No, we have developed a dimensional colour model that is free from classification of any kind. The model is called Human Centred Colour System® and has been recognised by the Creative Industries Council UK and Innovate UK Edge Innovate2Growth program. It enables us to move away from forced classification and focus on human-centred approaches to address the limitations of existing colour selection and classification practices. It produces a scale that explains the matches in the context of their respective colour domain, allowing for better understanding of your personal colour palette.
- Is it okay to wear makeup in the photo sent for colour analysis?
- It’s okay, but the personal colour analysis will have a slightly altered outcome because the makeup shifts your natural colours. However, if you frequently wear makeup, the colour analysis done with makeup can be quite useful to better align with your most common social look.
- Shall I send the photos during or after the purchase of the Colour Book?
- Uploading photos will be required during the checkout process. You will be asked to upload at least one and maximum three images that you feel are suitable for analysis. Our system will select the one that is most suitable in terms of colour fidelity and lighting.
- Why am I unable to order the Brand Book directly from the website?
- While we have a core package set out in the Brand Book that contains the most impactful elements, there is almost always some customisation needed. These can change the price either for lower or higher, and it needs to be arranged with you before ordering. We will send the invoice via PayPal once we have agreed on the final branding package.
- How do you analyse colours for the Colour Book?
- To analyse colours, there are multiple steps involved, starting with the equilibration of the images to minimize distortion caused by lightening and filtering differences. The images then are transferred to our Human-Centred Colour System®, which applies the colour matching formula we created. This is the stage when we assign material colours to the natural colours extracted and cleaned from the images. The palette creation is the final step in the process, where we visualise the regions of the colour variations that match your natural colour palette.
- Can I ask a new analysis if I'm not happy with the outcome?
- Yes, if you believe that the analysis result is not accurately reflecting your colour palette, please get in touch with us. We’ll be consulting with the colour harmony specialist responsible for the case, we will either redo the analysis or give you a refund.
- How are the best colour combinations displayed in the Colour Book?
- The Personal Colour Book offers three scenarios for garment matching, each of which displays two of the best colour combinations created specifically for your personal colour palette. The principles of selection are explained in the book, so you can recreate the impact with other colour combinations as well.
- Do you discuss the meaning of the colours in the Colour Book?
- No, in the Colour Book, we focus on your personal colour palette and its best colour combinations. We talk about colour trends but do not provide cultural references or psychological associations to the colours, as they are very specific to each person’s personal and ethnic history. To learn more about the meaning of different colours, please visit our blog where we discuss these topics.
